Asics has been breaking ground with the collaborations they’ve embarked with Ronny Fieg and CNCPTS just to name a couple. The Gel Lyte III continues to produce strong color schemes along with the comfort and support Asics is hailed for. I decided to look at three editions of the Gel Lyte III that epitomize the direction Asics is taking with this sleek lineup.
The black and tan edition released recently uses premium suede and mesh to create a sneaker fit for running or just killing the casual scene. The speckled midsole is the strongest part of the shoe in my opinion. The color scheme makes this pair of kicks a definite go to any day of the week.
The “mortar” Gel Lyte III was made in collaboration with Highs and Lows (HAL) from Australia. This edition comes in a pack called the “bricks and mortar” pack the “bricks” portion is the GT-II Asics. This Gel Lyte III is made with grey nubuck perforated suede and creates one of the softest kicks out there. I had to look up what nubuck was for this blog post and it turned out to be cow leather rubbed on the outside to make a softer form of suede, I’m sold. This pair of kicks will have its international release September 21st.
The “Captains Blue” doesn’t come out until October but these are my favorite Gel Lyte III’s to date. The color scheme is a combination of black, grey and light blue I’m a little color blind so it looked like navy blue instead of black but either way these are the shit. The material is Asic’s signature premium suede and mesh creating a stable and comfortable shoe.
The best part of the Gel Lyte III’s is the comfort that the shoe ensures and premium material for durability. I’d buy these Asic runners for the love of the game not to outrun the competition because all three of these are straight #heatonfeet.
